Despite the weather - it was much cooler than usual for late June with occasional drizzle - there was an excellent turnout of over two hundred people for the Village Reunion and a chance to look at the “Home Front Exhibition”. | ||
The Home Front display formed the centre of the exhibition. This will also feature in the Flower Show on July 9th |
Some recent additions to the Archive’s records attracted quite a bit of attention |
The Home Front told the story of life in Froyle during the Second World War in the words of those who were there |
Getting down to a bit of research! |
Several people researching their family history discovered long lost relatives on the day |
Another piece of Froyle history from the war years was Ena Westbrook’s Jowett which is now privately preserved |
Old and young alike exchanged stories and reminiscences |
It was also a good opportunity catch up with old friends |
