I am researching my family tree and discovered my mother's family's(surname Dixon) origins in Froyle. The parish records have been very helpful to me - many thanks!

Does anyone know of the SHILLINGS/STEERS from Lower Froyle as my father Robert Shilling grew up their with his sister Margaret who married a Canadian Robert Reddick and settled in Canada. Their parents were Alfred and Constance Shilling (nee Steer).

Hello everyone in Froyle just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of all of you. Missing all the green lovely fields of Hampshire. Lots of sunshine here.

Just to add to my earlier post my father John White taught at Lord Mayor Trelor college, where as a very young child I learnt to swim. My siblings went to school locally and all I can remember was Mr. Baggy (as I called him because I couldn't say his name) used to drive them all to school. He always made me laugh. The village has always held a very special place in my heart. The site is great thank you so much.

Thanks for all the information and pictures. My family lived in Froyle House in the 1960's and I have many fond memories of life there from sitting pixie like on the stone mushrooms along the drive to launching my shoes on the Lily pond. I also loved rolling down the hill by the veranda and was a general pest to any of the animals that lived there from the Majors dog to the marmalade tomcat who was a long suffering live teddie to me. I have often told people about the house and village now I can refer them to your site to see what I have been talking about all these years.
