I was looking at the New Churchyard records. No.75 mentions my grandfather, Eric Wilfred Lewis. Does anyone know the link between the Brownjohns in that record and those mentioned in No.95 please?

James Reed

My family REED was originally from Froyle. Information traces James Reed to the 1841 census on the website. We know he died that year, birth 1764. We are not sure about his place of birth. It is listed that he and his wife Lucy (Coombes) were living at the "St Thomas Miller Lodge". I would like to learn more about my family. Thank you.

My grandmother was an Ellis and related to the Ellis family of Lower Froyle who were the shoemakers in the village. This site is fantastic and so helpful in finding more about my relatives. Sad to see that the pub they lived in was demolished but I assume that the Malthouse (House) is on the site.

I am thrilled to find your web site!!.My family (the webbs) lived in Rose Cottage around 1964-1966.I remember walking to school in Upper Froyle with my two sisters and my young brother with Susan and Dolly Woodcock next door.Mr.Layley was the teacher/head and i remember him being such fun! I was great friends with Marlene Robinson who lived at 3 Rose Cottages. We used to play her sisters Beatle records in their front room!!I think my time in Lower Froyle was the happiest time of my childhood. We had to move from the village to live at R.A.F Odiham where my Father was stationed and how i hated it!!! I am visiting the village next weekend and can hardly wait to see if it is as i recall...i would love to hear from anyone who remebers any of us..i am Elizabeth, the eldest, my sisters were Susan and Janet and my brother was Gareth. We had two new additions to the family whilst we were there, Sarah and a year later, Simon..Someone must remember such a large family!!!

Message for Jessica Davis who asked after Clapshaw family members from Aquila and Minnie, later Paterson. I have replied to your given email, but it has been returned as undeliverable - if you would like to respond to my email I can contact you to discuss the Clapshaws further - Brian
