The Coronation of King George VI | |
A celebration by the children
of the village for the Coronation of King George VI in 1937. The little
boy in the middle with the top hat, Union Jack and buttons is Reg Vivian
. On his right is his sister Beryl and next but one his other sister Pam.
Peggy Robinson is the Britannia figure in the centre. The little girl in front of Reg Vivian is Pat Milne, later to be Pat Pritchard (see picture immediately below). |

The Froyle Dramatic Society | |
With the construction of the new Community Centre a Froyle Dramatic
Society was formed. The photograph on the left shows a scene from “The
Late Mrs Cordell” starring, from left to right:- Ernest Weeks (Mr Budleigh), Evelyn Lawrence (Bessie), Patricia Pritchard (Miss Simpson), Betty Barnes (Miss Bond), Mollie Goodyear (Mrs Woolbrook) and Betty Roberts (Mrs Sidbury). |

The Froyle Players | |
A far cry from the performances above, this picture shows the final
curtain of the 1999 performance of “Beauty & the Beast” on the stage
of the Newton-Davis Hall at the Lord Mayor Treloar School in Upper Froyle.
This was the 16th Pantomime to be staged by the Froyle Players - their
Millennium panto was “Cinderella” in January 2000. In 2003 they performed their last pantomime, “Babes in the Wood”. In 2005 a new Froyle Players re-started with a production of “Jack and the Beanstalk” For details of all the Pantomimes performed between 1984 and 2003, click here |
