In his “Historical Notes on Froyle” Tom Knight records that...“Froyle House was built about 1820 on the original site of Cattleys.” We had always assumed that it was just built on the same plot, not that it was actually built on the foundations of the earlier house, although this was a common thing in the past. So it was very exciting to be invited to join a small group from the Hampshire Field Club in an expedition into the cellars in April 2011. Here are some of the pictures we took:- |
