Hairy-footed Flower Bee – Anthophora plumipes (female). Bumblebee lookalike We see these Solitary bees in the garden each year buzzing and hovering over the Lungwort (Pulmonaria) which they particularly like to take nectar from. The males are brown with a pale face and chase off all comers waiting for a chance to mate with the all black females.
