Once again we have no pictures of the pond in Upper Froyle. But, as can be seen from the map above, it was in a fairly central location in this part of the village. By the 1960s it had fallen into disuse and, to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth in 1977, the Parish Council turned it into a grassed area and a seat (on the left against the wall) was placed there below a commemorative plaque. As a Millennium project a copy of the Parish Map was put here in 2000 (Display case centre frame). This panorama was taken in September 2004. |
