To commemorate The Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977, Froyle Parish Council procurred the old village pond in Upper Froyle from Treloars. This was then filled in to create an Open Space.
A stone plaque on the wall reads:-
This open space
was created by the
People of FROYLE
to commemorate the
SILVER JUBILEE OF
QUEEN ELIZABETH II
IN 1977
A similar plaque was added in 2002 to commemorate The Queen’s Golden Jubilee
Jubilee Green, as it was called, photographed in 2004
